I need your help! How do you crochet in a starting chain? I feel like this has been a question that no matter how many patterns I read or how many searches I do, I've never found a concrete - this is the correct way - answer.
I assumed that when working in the starting chain you worked only in the top loop. It wasn't until I was working a pattern for cancer awareness ribbons that I even realized there could be another way.
This is the pattern I was working. Free Bernat Pattern for the coffee cozy with cancer ribbon. And by working I mean making dozens of them for a March of Dimes event. I couldn't figure out why my ribbon was turning out wonky. That is when I starting working in both loops...and...TAADAA, they started looking like the photo in the pattern.
So, please tell me! How do you work in the starting chain?
